MY APOLOGIES TO THE CHEF
I'd like to say something interesting happened this week. Well, I guess that's doing a disservice to the fabulous people I hung out with.
Cousin Natalie
Spent the night with me Thursday. We watched The Rescuers (those old animated movies are so wonderful), which she had never seen but had always heard me quote (Medusa is such fun). Then we went to Lindsey's house and watched five Futurama episodes. We stayed up till 2:45 and got up at 11:30 Friday morning (I used Tucker to wake her up). Then we split lunch at Corner Bakery, checked out an antique store (I scored some Christmas gifts as usual), went to a sadly disgusting and overly-packed Goodwill (I found a pair of black-lacquered ceramic unicorn heads for a dollar), and then headed over to Stonebriar to meet up with the other quarter of the metroplex who was out shopping. I bought a Vitals magazine (my current fave) and some lip gloss. Natalie didn't buy anything. She also hadn't been to any of those places before, except the mall. So I hope I gave her a good time. She never talks. The most she talked to me was about her ex-boyfriend's sad family life.
Adam
Called him on the way back from taking Natalie home. We met at Cinemark Legacy to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which he had already "seen" (slept through the entire first half or so). He lectured me about spending 4.50 on popcorn and then ate some of it later. We had good random conversation before the movie and he seems a lot taller than I remember. AND I LIKE THE MOHAWK LOOK, BROTHER. I could go into a tirade about the movie but that would probably bore your soul. Okay, let me just say this: so many key parts were left out of the movie. I know you can't make a 700-page book into a 2.5-hour movie without cutting things out, but some of the things that were missing are completely essential to the subsequent movies. There were a lot of strange parts that were introduced and then never completed. STUPID. I'm done now. After the movie, we awkwardly said goodbye and went our separate ways. Then I went and drove around and listened to Plaid and enjoyed the almost-rain weather and the yellow sky.
And today? Well, I was going to hang out with Tim but I had too much to do (why oh WHY did I say I'd try to do some of those data entry from home this weekend? I'm a moron). I never got my ironing done. Then I thought about going to church with Adam but again, too much to do. Then I was supposed to have dinner with Sally and Laura but Laura bailed out and Sally's packing for her big move back to Cali. I was going to stop by her house but she didn't answer her phone when I called and I can't be up much later than uh--well. I should go to bed now.
I HOPE YOU ALL HAD AN AWESOMETASTIC THANKSGIVING.
