;P
Starting over on my college degree is bad enough, going back to school in Denton, Texas is the real blow. But I guess it will be worth it in the end. RIGHT? One thing's for sure, having a goal is awesome. Right now I have several goals and that's even better. I remember reading a news article once about a man who had created a list of things he wanted to accomplish and spent his life crossing things off of the list. I think he had the right idea. I won't share my list with you, but KNOW THAT I HAVE ONE, SUCKERS.
Okay, one item on the list is to watch every TV movie ever made. I can't help it, Cabin By the Lake cemented my fate. I'm convinced that, to fully appreciate the art of movies like Cabin By the Lake, you have to go back and see where they started and also compare them to current features. So far I'm accomplishing this goal fairly quickly by leaving Lifetime on all day. Tonight at 7PM, I get to see Jenna Elfman in Obsessed. "Is Ellena a woman scorned or a pathological liar?" There's only one way to find out!
Right now though, the number one goal is to find a great job in Dallas. I've tried searching for things involving typing, editing, copying, printing, anything print-media-related, but have only turned up things that have an extensive experience requirements. I've tried going through my connections but have turned up nothing there, either. Maybe Chris at the staffing agency will have something for me this week. I'm not going to worry about it since worrying doesn't make it happen. I'm determined to find something I enjoy doing. My elder family members all give me the speech about how "a job is a job" and I understand the value of that line of thinking. But having just left a job where I was absolutely miserable for 2 years (seriously, what was I thinking?), I'm certain I can find something beyond the "just-a-job" category.
Also, I need to find some roommates around here. The list just grows longer and longer!
My mom and I just had a non-angry yelling match over why I should/shouldn't move back to Amarillo to go to the college to get my associate's degree. IS THIS WOMAN INSANE!??!?!?! I don't even know what to say to her, I'm so flabbergasted. She thinks it's funny but she's serious about it. She says Amarillo would be better than Denton. At least going to school in Denton means I can come home to wherever I'm living! Amarillo...oh man. It's a cool place, but I can't go back to that.
