ALMOST FAMOUS...ALMOST
I need big hands
to help me
change the profile of planets;
the traveler requires
triangular stars;
constellations like dice
cut into squares by the cold;
hands that distill
hidden rivers in Antofagasta
and restore to the water
what its avarice lost in the desert.
-Neruda, "The Gift"
I am so glad to be a woman. It's about time.
I've been living in an alternate universe for the last week, nearly completely absorbed in fantasy fiction just because I felt like it. It was great while it lasted. In true Tracy form, I've gleaned something valuable from it and moved on. I guess the things that appeal to me in such tales never change: the idea of a simple, good life with abundance of the heart. I've felt that more in the last month than ever before. I've been really, truly, genuinely joyful. Not a circumstance-based happiness but something deeper than that.
So! Out of all this stems an amazing business idea I've had in the recent past weeks. Once I get some more things finalized I'll tell you more about it...maybe. And maybe, just maybe, once it is complete and I open it up to the public I'll raise my sword and shout, "For death and glory!" That's what I've gleaned from this week.
