Einfache Männer

Do you appreciate unusual personalities that border on the unacceptable? Then allow me to introduce you to Klaus Nomi, the essence of eccentric German Eighties music! Once a backup singer for David Bowie, he forged his own career in 1981 with the release of his first album. In 1983, following two subsequent albums, Klaus became one of the first celebrities to die of AIDS. But he left some amazing videos and he sure had some serious style. Seriously.

Another delightfully wacky German is Sven Väth, one of the original founders of trance music and owner of Cocoon Recordings and the Cocoon Club in Frankfurt. What I love about the guy is his sense of humor; he doesn't seem to take a lot of things seriously, himself least of all. Megapersonality to the max. It's awesome that this song is from 1987 and it still sounds completely relevant. If you like wonderfully cheesy things, then watch this video. For me "wonderfully cheesy" translates to "highly lovable."

How is that music still relevant? I have to disagree. Although it is still awesome.

The dancing with the robot is so priceless! I have the biggest crush on Sven Väth just because of that.
